Environmental Stressors
The effect of environmental stressors on the human plays an important role in sound ergonomics designs and layouts of an occupant’s physical environment. Environmental stressors are external factors, such as physical, chemical or biological agents that influence the human’s comfort, performance, health and safety in his/her work environment.

ERGOTECH is actively involved in measurement, evaluation and/or assessment of environmental stressors in these environments. ERGOTECH’s capabilities in the area of measurement and assessment of environmental stressors are currently focussed specifically on the following:

Noise
Vehicle
o interior noise
o exterior stationary noise
o drive-by noise
General office, industrial and work environment noise assessments and zone indications
Impulse noise
Audiometric screening

Temperature
Measurement and assessment of temperature in offices, vehicles, industrial areas and other working environments.
Lighting
Office, industrial and work environment illumination, luminance and luminance contrast assessments.
Vibration
Measurement and assessment of whole-body vibration resulting from exposure to vibrating equipment, buildings, structures and/or other working environments with regard to comfort, health and motion sickness
- Measurement and assessment of hand-arm transmitted vibration due to operation of vibrating equipment.

Toxic substances
Measurement and assessment of toxic gasses in the office, industrial or other work environments.
