| The requirement to quantify human
performance may be necessary for a variety of reasons, from
benchmarking baseline data, to task analysis, physical demands,
and developing selection criteria for employees, looking at
functional allocation and evaluation of work procedures.
ERGOTECH facilitates the development
of tools specific to the client’s needs, ranging from
large-scale, such as field trials on a systems level, to evaluation
of critical components, such as eye-hand coordination or office
procedures.
Quantifiable measurement, including physiological measures,
biomechanical strength and perceptual ratings of the participants,
as well as performance ratings are used as appropriate for
evaluation purposes. Where necessary prevailing environmental
conditions are also measured to indicate influence on performance.
The benefits of human performance evaluations are important
to people management, selection criteria, and addressing ergonomics
factors affecting health, safety and productivity.
ERGOTECH has conducted studies to quantify the effect of
equipment and systems on human performance, including vehicle
interior lighting, cooling systems, the effect of load carriage
on human performance and administrative systems and processes
in office and industrial environments.
